Mtoto na mama: supporting mothers and their children
1 min readBy Admin
The programme reaches isolated mothers whose child lives with a disability — those most exposed to the street.
An isolated mother whose child lives with a disability faces two exclusions: from school, and from the neighbourhood.
What the programme does
Adapted school support, medical follow-up, and above all peer groups between mothers — that last strand has the clearest measurable effect on keeping the child at home.
The programme runs in Goma with neighbourhood health facilities.
