Back to school: 120 children return to the classroom

Enrolment fees, uniforms, supplies: inside a school year prepared since June with seven schools in Goma.

One hundred and twenty children supported by our teams returned to class this week, across seven schools in Goma.

What the support covers

For each child: enrolment fees, uniform, school supplies and a monthly review with the referring teacher. That review matters as much as the rest — it is what allows us to act before a child drops out.

What remains difficult

Thirty-two children could not be enrolled for lack of civil registration documents. Procedures are under way with the relevant services; they take four months on average.

Enrolment is not the end of the work. It is the start of the year we have to hold on through.
