Our organisation

Alongside street children in Goma

From Goma, Bon Dieu dans la Rue supports children and young people living on the streets of North Kivu. Our work begins with a daily presence in the neighbourhoods: that is where the first bonds of trust are formed.

What follows is a path built with each young person — shelter, schooling or training, healthcare, then family tracing. We work with local authorities, schools and health facilities across the territory.

Our mission

Offer street children and young people a path towards safety, education and, whenever possible, a return to their family.

Our vision

A North Kivu where no child grows up on the street for lack of an alternative — because their family, school and community were supported in time.

Our values

  • Dignity

No child is a case file. Each arrives with their own story, and our support starts there.

  • Family first

Our goal is not long-term shelter, but making a return to family possible.

  • Transparency

Our accounts and results are published every year — including what did not work.

  • Self-reliance

Vocational training and income-generating support: leaving without creating dependency.

Our organisation

A word from our representative

Cedric karungu

People often ask me what really changes for a child. It is neither the meal nor the bed — it is the moment someone remembers their first name and says it again the next day.

All our work rests on that continuity: coming back, again and again, until a future becomes possible.
